Growing up in the shadows of our nation’s capital, Akira Douglas was born into a legacy of high-stakes service. With a mother spearheading national security initiatives at the Department of Homeland Security and a grandmother retired from the Office of Intelligence and Analysis, Akira didn’t just learn about leadership—she lived it. From a young age, she understood that true impact comes from a relentless commitment to helping others navigate complex systems.
Today, Akira serves as the Executive Assistant to the CEO at Zinzow Law. Much like the sharp, “always-three-steps-ahead” force of nature you’d see in a high-powered legal drama, Akira is the engine behind the firm’s leadership. Her path to this role is defined by a rare blend of tactical precision and genuine empathy. Before joining the firm, she spent six years in the senior living industry as a Certified Dementia Practitioner, mastering the art of high-stakes crisis management and providing a steady hand for families—a skill she now applies to ensuring the CEO’s office runs with surgical precision.
Akira’s leadership truly shines through her dual life as a Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Army Reserve Logistics Corps. Having risen through the ranks from an enlisted Human Resource Specialist to a Platoon Leader, she now commands 46 Soldiers in a Fuel Transportation Platoon. Whether she is coordinating mission-critical military logistics in the field or managing the strategic priorities of our CEO, Akira thrives where discipline meets action. She doesn’t just manage schedules; she anticipates needs and ensures the mission succeeds, no matter the terrain.
Outside the office and the motor pool, Akira swaps mission-planning for motorcycle adventures and recharging with a gripping fantasy novel. A Marylander at heart, she still laughs about the childhood summers spent on her family’s Virginia farm—where she discovered a permanent fear of snakes. Above all, she is a devoted family member and pet owner; she loves keeping up with her two younger brothers and finding downtime with her loyal dog and her boyfriend, a fellow Army Veteran.
